PBR Map Generator

Guide

  1. Pick your picture
    • Click “Choose Image…” and select any image (a plain grey height-map works best).
    • The file name pops up underneath and the preview boxes fill automatically.
  2. Watch the magic
    • Six little panels appear: Original, Normal, Shininess, Displacement, AO, Shadow.
    • A live 3-D model shows the effect in real time.
  3. Tweak each map
    • Every panel has sliders or check-boxes: move them and the picture + 3-D view update instantly.
    • Example:
Normal → “Strength”, “Smoothing”, “Invert Y”.
Shininess → “Level”, “Contrast”, “Invert Source”.
(Hover the sliders if you forget what they do — tool-tips appear.)
  4. Play with the 3-D window
    • Drag to rotate, scroll to zoom.
    • “Plane / Sphere / Cube” swaps the shape.
    • “Default • 3-Point • Studio” switches light setups; the top ring slider spins the main light.
    • Hit Reset View to centre everything again.
  5. Grab your textures
    • Each map panel owns a Download button for single files.
    • Happy with all of them? Smash the green “Download All Maps (.zip)” button and you’ll get every PNG in one zip.
  6. Save & reuse settings
    • Export Settings → stores every slider value in a .json file.
    • Import Settings → reloads that file later so you don’t have to retweak.

Quick tips

  • Use small, clean greyscale images for the sharpest normal maps.
  • The coloured message bar under the buttons tells you if something went wrong.
  • If your normal map looks “inside-out”, tick Invert Green (Y) Channel.
